Want to help us empower students?
Students discover the complex hidden infrastructure that reliably delivers clean water right to our tap. They audit potable water use on campus, calculate reclaimed water savings, follow the path wastewater takes to the treatment plant and design water use reduction strategies for their school site.
Students follow the path pollutants take from our schools and neighborhoods through the storm drain system to rivers, lakes and the oceans. After collecting and testing runoff samples, analyzing results, students design and implement mitigation strategies for their school site. The program concludes with a presentation to school and city officials with actions taken and recommendations for further work.
