We believe empowering students is essential in developing a society capable of careful stewardship of our water resources.

Why Water Education Matters
Water education is key to shaping the next generation of water professionals. By introducing students to these critical career paths and empowering them through project-based learning, we help ensure a future with clean, safe, flowing water for all.

Award-Winning Programs

Environmental curriculum awarded by Orange County Department of Education and CASQA

Our education programs incorporate:

Our Partners

Through partnerships with local water authorities, engineering firms, and municipalities, our programs are brought to schools all over the West Coast.

Water Leadership Programs

Poseidon Education’s NGSS-aligned programs give students the opportunity to earn valuable internship credit while tackling real-world environmental challenges and exploring future careers. Designed for grades 5–12, these immersive programs teach students to collect and analyze water quality data, develop effective solutions, and communicate their findings to community leaders. In collaboration with local water authorities, engineering firms, and municipalities, we ensure each experience reflects the skills and standards of the water industry.

Students follow the path pollutants take from their neighborhoods through the storm drain system to their local waterways. After collecting, testing, and analyzing runoff samples, students design mitigation strategies and present their solutions to school and city officials.

Students discover the complex hidden infrastructure that reliably delivers clean water to our tap. They audit potable water use, calculate reclaimed water savings, follow the path of wastewater to treatment, and design conservation strategies for their school site.

Educational Units

Our short educational programs provide concentrated learning on critical water issues, equipping students with the practical knowledge and strategies needed to address water challenges.

Students explore local water projects to learn about the process of providing safe, clean water to their community.

Students assess sources of dry weather runoff and build strategies to reduce non-stormwater pollution in urban watersheds.

Students use research tools to explore capture systems around their school site and design their own strategies and models for reuse.

Students collect data about litter on school grounds and develop strategies to encourage school-wide behavioral change.

“This program directly connects the community to their water agency and helps them understand the value of the services the agencies provide.”
